**Adecco Healthcare & LifeSciences is currently looking to hire a skilled Histolopathology Laboratory Assistant for their client in Louisville ,KY** Job Type - Fulltime Pay rate -18.50/HR Shift hours - Tuesday -Saturday (3am to 11.30am) **Position Summary** - As a Histopathology Laboratory Assistant I, you will work with Grossing and Histology Laboratory Technicians, other Laboratory Assistants, and Supervisor. This position performs the pre-analytical processing of patient samples based on established laboratory procedures and frequently resolves processes not defined by standard practice. This position is based in Louisville, Kentucky. **Responsibilities and Duties Including but not limited to** • Determine the acceptability of veterinary specimens for testing according to established criteria. • Receive and organize veterinary specimens. • Prepare specimens for processing and analysis using aseptic techniques. • Accessioning histopathology specimens into the laboratory information systems. • Contacting clinics for more information via email or telephone. • Identifying problem specimens and specimens not suitable for analysis. • Computer data entry and retrieval. • Monitor, identify, and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. • Maintain an organized and clean laboratory space. • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested. • Assist in other areas as needed. • Change tissue processors • Dump and rotate wet tissue bins. • Scan wet tissue jars, blocks, and slides. **Knowledge, Qualifications** • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Laboratory Experience is preferred but not required. • Team Oriented • Robust organization and time management skills. • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required. • Attention to detail.
