About the role: Responsible for the testing and documentation of all analytical and microbiological evaluations. Learn all procedures for testing raw and finished products used and sold at the plant. Understand the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Communicate quality concerns to production. Key responsibilities + Keeps the immediate supervisor informed of relevant activities on shift and takes or recommends corrective action when required. + Perform testing and evaluation of raw ingredients. Communicate the acceptance or rejection of the raw ingredient and document theresults. + Perform testing and evaluation of finished products. Report results to production and maintain full documentation. + Write product dispositions for non-conforming products. + Maintain and file all quality records. + Keep accurate inventory of all laboratory supplies and communicate what is needed. + Send preshipment samples to customers, contract plants and other Kerry plants. + Conduct environmental sampling and testing and investigate and report positive results. + Perform laboratory equipment calibrations and standardizations and record findings. + Demonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interacting with all personnel. + Understand and comply with all HACCP, Allergen, Environmental, regulatory and customer demands and requirements. + Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. + Keep detailed and accurate quality and production trial records + Assist the supervisor in conducting special tasks or projects that may require organizing or researching a project. + Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications and skills: + Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Micro-Biology, Organic Chemistry and/or Food Science preferred. + Knowledge and experience of GC/LC testing. + Knowledge and experience in a lab setting running chemistry tests. + Food industry experience is highly desirable. + Minimum 0-1 years of experience.
