The successful candidate will perform laboratory tests and other laboratory work using both conventional and computerized machines. This role involves preparing and painting panels, conducting routine and complex tests according to prescribed standards, and determining chemical and physical characteristics or composition of substances. The Lab Technician will also be responsible for setting up, readjusting, and operating laboratory equipment and instruments, formulating paints, and documenting and analyzing data. Responsibilities + Perform laboratory tests and other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines. + Prepare and paint panels. + Conduct laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards. + Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of substances. + Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments. + Formulate paints and document data analysis. + Run physical tests on paints and wet chemistry tests such as viscosity, pH, and titrations. + Pour and mix paints. + Collaborate with a larger team. Essential Skills + Basic wet chemistry testing techniques. + Basic lab quality check techniques. + Knowledge of quality control and GMP. + Understanding of chemical and coating processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree or non-degree candidates considered. + Coatings experience preferred but open to strong candidates without it. + Organic Chemistry coursework is a plus. + Attention to detail and professionalism. + Basic lab knowledge and understanding of basic lab tests. Work Environment The Lab Technician will work in a laboratory environment. The role may occasionally require lifting paint buckets weighing up to 50lbs. The standard working hours are 7am-4pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work.
