Job DescriptionAt Avery Dennison, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to be based in Oegstgeest, the Netherlands, in our local weathering lab and to be working in close cooperation with the Graphics application and digital print labs. The work covers conducting accelerated aging and artificial weathering tests on products and components. Furthermore, the activities focus on execution of test methods related to the properties of pressure sensitive materials, including the execution of specific application tests to validate product performance against our customers needs. It also includes the development of new test methods and continuous improvement activities for the Graphics lab operations. You will work in close cooperation with the product development engineers.
Responsibilities :
Plan and conduct accelerated aging and artificial weathering tests in agreement with the customer specifications in cooperation with the weathering and formulation teams
Create sample material and conduct requested tests according to our standard procedures
Analyze and interpret experimental results acquired
Perform regular calibration and maintenance tasks on weathering equipment according to defined procedures
Support for graphics application projects:
Prepare sample material according to specifications in order to test the properties of these materials.
Interpret and report data and other information of application tests, in order to support the division.
Support for digital print lab activities:
Prepare sample material and perform tests according to standard operating procedures in order to evaluate printing performance.
Provide support in the development of new products in close cooperation with development engineers
Maintain and communicate results through written and verbal summaries, tests reports and gate review updates
Work closely with regional labs to understand their needs and how to incorporate these needs into new product platforms
Cooperate with different colleagues and functions within all Avery Dennison divisions and external parties (i.e. Marketing, other areas of R&D, Suppliers/Customers)
QualificationsQualification: Technical Education (MBO)
Able to perform analytical tasks independently
2-5 years of work experience in a Chemical or Materials Science lab environment, preferably with pressure sensitive materials
Strong analytical, problem solving and innovative solution capabilities
High level of accuracy and attention to details
Good computer skills (familiarity with Google Workspace, Word processing and Spreadsheet programs
Well-organized
Service-oriented and proactive attitude
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Enthusiastic and curious
Flexibility and dynamicity
Strong Teamwork attitude: must be able to work independently as well as work with a diverse team
