Lab TechnicianReporting to the Quality Supervisor, the position’s responsibility is to perform product analysis and to ensure the quality and safety of the product produced in the plant by verifying all necessary food safety compliance requirements.Experience in testing cheese / Whey / cottage cheese and Feta cheese.Has knowledge of how to perform Babcock testing, moisture oven testing. Work with CEM Smartrack, FT2 Milkoscan, protein test using Kjeldahl, Salt Titrator.Must have knowledge of how to perform Cryoscope on dairy liquids and calcium testing.Key responsibilities for this position include:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:•\tThe lab technician will be expected to perform analytical testing on all product produced in the facility.•\tThe lab technician will be expected to perform Micro Testing on Crystallizer (SPC) produced in the facility.•\tThe lab technician will be expected to perform retest/cutoff Testing on all product produced in the facility.•\tThe position requires proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft (word, excel, PowerPoint).•\tThe position will work with SAP, Matrix, and Quality Suite etc. to perform functions critical to quality.•\tThe lab technician will work with internal customers to ensure all quality related issues are.addressed.•\tThe lab technician will be expected to become proficient in understanding the importance of food safety, aseptic sampling of product, and to execute these tasks in a timely manner.•\tThe position will support meeting satisfactory scores on all LHD Quality Systems assessments as they relate to QRMP and HACCP, FSSC.•\tSupport of Quality Systems (HACCP, GMP’s, Hold and Release and Calibration) training to all LHD employees will be expected.•\tAssist in management of potential product or process out-of-specification situations (i.e., investigations and root causes) and corrective and preventative action plans to be implemented.•\tThe lab technician will be expected to escalate out-of-spec results to production via radio call real-time.•\tPerform other assignments as directed.•\tAccountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) standards as outlined in the plant’s QRMP accountability document, including the implementation, improvement, and ongoing maintenance. •\tComply with our policies and procedures as related to LHD Management System.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
