Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to work in our lab and pilot plant. The ideal candidate will follow SOPs, perform endotoxin testing, run Horbia testing (blood analytics), and conduct in-house testing for gels, purity, and small bench top dryers. The role involves receiving, labeling, and storing samples safely, recording tests and analyses, and reporting results. Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment and space, as well as maintaining equipment records and daily work logs, are essential duties. The candidate will learn and retain procedures for start-up, operation, and shutdown of laboratory equipment, perform continuous machine preventive maintenance, and conduct daily sample taking and analysis according to procedures.
ResponsibilitiesFollow SOPs and perform endotoxin testing.Run Horbia testing (blood analytics).Conduct in-house testing for gels, purity, and small bench top dryers.Receive, label, and safely store samples to be tested.Organize and appropriately store samples.Record tests and analyses and report results.Clean and maintain lab equipment and space.Maintain equipment records and daily work logs.Learn and retain procedures for start-up, operating, and stopping laboratory equipment.Perform continuous machine preventive maintenance.Conduct daily sample taking and analysis in accordance with procedures.Responsible for all other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with HACCP, laboratory, and cell biology.Willingness to learn and train.Understanding of regulatory affairs, FDA regulations, and the pharmaceutical industry.Knowledge of chemistry, biologics, pharmaceuticals, biology, GMP environment, GMP, ISO standards, quality control, and quality assurance.Proficient oral and written communication skills.Attention to detail.Effective listening skills.Ability to keep accurate records.Ability to follow instructions and strictly adhere to procedures.Ability to prioritize multiple projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Science-related fields or Bachelor's Degree in Science-related fields.Work Environment
The company is a start-up/small business that recently launched its product. Employees work within the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday. The position will start part-time with 20-30 hours per week for the first 2-3 weeks during training, then transition to full-time hours. The company produces and sells premium grade plasma fractions and animal-derived products tailored for life science research, diagnostics, and biopharmaceutical companies. The work environment is dynamic, making a significant impact in the cell culture and plasma industry.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
