The Lab Technician role is responsible for assignments related to the day to day performance of the material testing laboratory (including mortar, concrete, and aggregate testing) in a manner that results in high quality products according to established standard tests required for research, development, quality control and/or technical service.          Essential Functions - % Time   50%  Prepares/processes materials samples including:  Active involvement in standard and exploratory experiment design,  Routine laboratory activity to make or prep materials, test samples, run lab trials per ASTM Standards  Development work with non-routine R&D assignments such as design of fixtures for experimental set-up and establishing proper data acquisition.     20% Collects and reports scientific & engineering data obtained from laboratory equipment through an effective plan/coordination and maintains laboratory notebook.  Maintain laboratories and equipment including set-up, general maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of experimental equipment or instruments
