The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. **Responsibilities** **Position Summary:** The R&D Lab Technologist works closely with the R&D Manager and Food Technologists in the development of new and/or improved products. This position also assists with other R&D tasks such as sample creation and shipping, sensory evaluation and providing technical information and support to vendors and customers as required. **Duties and Responsibilities:** Create lab prototypes from product development concepts. Sample coordination – track, ship and communicate with sales, customers or others on status of all sample requests. Assist in sensory evaluation of raw materials and finished goods. Responsible for organizing and maintaining the R&D lab, storage areas and the shelf-life study room. Participate in the setup of new specification management system. Assist with completion of customer paperwork and portal entry. Conduct stability tests for all new products and packaging confirming shelf life. Conduct research as required to extend shelf life of new or existing products or test new materials. Maintain all shelf-life studies and documentation. Assist in formula and recipe set up for costing. Responsible for supporting and maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs. Cross train/develop to support other R&D teams (Fruit & Nut, Nut Butter). Ability to work overtime (weekends, evenings) to support first production launches occasionally may be required. Other duties, as assigned. Competencies / Skills/ Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with laboratory techniques and practices. Ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task within an environment of shifting deadlines and demands. Knowledge of Food Safety – FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, etc. preferred. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. **Education and Experience Required:** High school diploma or GED equivalent, associate degree preferred, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification / Licenses: Must posses a valid U.S. Driver’s License **Physical Requirements:** This position is regularly required to communicate with others, both oral and written. This position is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel: This position does not travel overnight.
