The Labor Coordinator position at the Michigan Assembly Plant located in Wayne, MI reports directly to the HR Business Partner Manager. The role is on-site in a manufacturing plant, and requires a dynamic individual with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and a passion for customer service with a desire to learn business operations. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities pertaining to the hourly employee workforce, including manpower planning, HRIS transactions, and attendance administration.
**What you'll do...**
The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities pertaining to the hourly employee workforce, including manpower planning, HRIS transactions, and attendance administration:
+ Responsible for hourly transactions and tracking manpower planning using an internal database.
+ Input transactions for hourly records in a timely fashion.
+ Create and maintain records, ensuring they are audit-compliant.
+ Build strong relationships with operations partners, Union representatives, HR colleagues and specialists, and other business partners to jointly deliver strategic objectives and resolve issues.
+ Research and understand the National and Local CBAs as it relates to the Labor Coordinator role; as well as support the Michigan Assembly Plant HR team.
+ Support hourly personnel recruiting and hiring, Personnel Relations activities, and health and safety activities as required.
+ Onboard new hire employees and create personnel jackets and profiles.
+ Serve as Subject Matter Expert for questions regarding policy administration as it applies to hourly personnel.
+ Support manpower planning processes, including hiring, layoffs, unemployment, etc.
+ Handle requests and inquiries from Ford’s legal and retirement divisions.
+ Enter attendance data into the company's payroll and/or HRIS system. Maintain accurate records of employee hours worked, paid time off (PTO), sick leave, and other absences.
+ Monitor employee attendance, identifying any discrepancies or potential issues (e.g., excessive absences, pattern of tardiness).
+ Investigate and resolve discrepancies in timekeeping data, working with employees and managers to correct errors. This might include contacting employees directly to clarify attendance information.
+ Ensure compliance with company attendance policies and procedures. This may involve educating employees on attendance policies and or issuing disciplinary actions when necessary.
+ Generate regular attendance reports for management, highlighting trends and potential areas of concern.
+ Encourage an effective, inclusive work environment / culture and relationships, balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company goals and values.
Work is onsite in a manufacturing environment. There may be times when this role may need to work a holiday or on nights/weekends, as assigned.
**You'll have...**
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ 4+ years of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with payroll or HR software is a plus.
+ Transactional experience with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality.

+ Experience working with a union in a manufacturing environment with daily interactions with union staff, hourly employees, and leadership
+ Oracle/HCM/TWO experience
+ Training and Development experience
+ Previous union contract experience
+ Experience working with the UAW
+ Demonstrated experience with delivering HR process improvement actions.
