Labor & Delivery - Certified Surgical Technologist

Certified Surgical Technician (CST)

$15,000 Sign-on Bonus with two (2) year commitment to that role. Open to external applicates who have not been previously employed by CMC in the last rolling 9 months.

Status/FTE: FT / 0.8-1.0 FTE

Shift length: 12 hours

Start Time: 1900

Unit: Labor & Delivery

Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): 3 12-hours shifts, every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays.

Required qualifications:

Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology through an accredited Surgical tech programBLS for Healthcare Provider upon hireOne (1) year of experience

Preferred qualifications:

National Certification as a Surgical TechnologistTwo (2) to five (5) years recent acute care experienceMedical terminology experience preferred

Additional Information/Department information: The Surgical Technologist prepares the sterile field as well as all instrumentation and equipment intended to be used on the sterile field. During surgery, the Surgical Technologist provides appropriate instrumentation through a combination of knowledge of the intended surgery, individual surgeon preference, and anticipation of the surgeon’s needs as the procedure progresses. Non-clinical support includes cleaning and sterilization of instruments, cleaning, and proper care of equipment, and provision of a surgical environment which is safe and clean. May also be required to work as a Health Unit Coordinator during low census times.
