To allow us to provide this fuel to the strictly regulated industry we must ensure the material we produce is to the highest standards. The analytical Laboratories at Westinghouse UK are an integrated part of this process and provide Quality Control and Assurance testing to its internal and external customer’s needs. To allow the laboratories to function with the ever-increasing workload, we need a Laboratory Administrative Assistant to help manage the day-to-day office tasks.

About the role:
You will help support the department by undertaking a variety of clerical/administrative tasks and provide support to a highly professional workforce. Tasks will include administering the electronic document management system, scanning a variety of laboratory and staff documents as appropriate for long-term digital storage. Assist in the ordering of laboratory consumables within the SAP system ensuring compliance with ISO accreditation and Westinghouse policies. General minutes secretary for the department’s forums and weekly meetings and help administer the department’s investigation process to aid timely resolution of issues.
Role Requirements
Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately. Operate and maintain standard office equipment. Undertake defined administrative tasks to assist in the delivery of a safe, effective and efficient Laboratory. Ability to initiate process improvements to improve workflow. Ability to interact with a variety of people including vendors, customers, laboratory staff and Senior Leaders, and to always maintain a customer service focus. Ability to work independently within established guidelines; to adjust to rapidly changing priorities; to communicate and work effectively in a group. Previous Administrative experience Experience of using Microsoft packages
Desirable but not essential skills/requirements
Previous experience working in a laboratory environment Working within SAP Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory testing Experience in areas of confidentiality
