Job Overview Under the supervision and guidance of the laboratory technician, the Laboratory Assistant will coordinate and carry out tasks in various areas of the clinical laboratory. Each day, specific responsibilities within the job scope will be assigned to a designated Laboratory Assistant. Based on these responsibilities, the Laboratory Assistant will monitor task progress, prioritize activities, and coordinate their execution. They will also provide regular, direct updates to the laboratory technician regarding task completion. Duties and Responsibilities• Prepare and set up necessary equipment and materials for investigations.• Conduct investigations, routine tests, experiments, and procedures with minimal supervision.• Collect and process samples for analysis.• Record, analyze, and document data, maintaining accurate records.• Maintain laboratory supplies, including ordering and stocking.• Clean and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.• Participate in quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and precision.• Follow laboratory safety guidelines, regulations, and procedures.• Prepare reports and presentations.• Assist in training new staff members.• Participate in audits and inspections within the facility and with external entities.
