Salary Range: £15 - 29.48 (depending on experience)

Location: Thurso - hybrid 3 days a week on site
Hours of work: 37 hours per week

Role & Responsibilities:
* Undertake and deliver sample preparation, routine analysis, and reporting to the lab or team leader, ensuring CSS reporting deadlines are met
* Maintain a daily log, reporting progress or issues to the laboratory leader/shift chemist
* Assist in minimising operational delays by identifying constraints leading to unplanned downtime
* Report non-compliance and deliver corrective actions
* Undertake safety checks and ensure appropriate actions are taken
* Maintain and develop proficiency in one or more laboratory areas
* Prepare technical documents for review
* Perform method development, validation, and uncertainty estimation
* Undertake audits on UKAS aspects of the quality management system

Qualifications/Experience Required:
* HNC in Science or equivalent qualifications with experience
* STEM qualifications at least to higher grade or equivalent

Ideally applicants should also have:
* Experience in analytical operations within laboratory environments
* Knowledge of quality management systems, specifically UKAS
* Ability to perform method development and validation tasks

UK National Security Vetting Status - Applicants must be able to obtain UKSV BPSS Clearance.
