Bunge is seeking a highly motivated Lab Assistant to join our team in Tema, Ghana.
In this position you will assist the Quality Analyst in performing routine lab analyses, sample receiving and preparation, and support daily lab operations according to quality procedures within Bunge's West Africa operations.
Main Accountabilities: Receive and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Enter sample data into the laboratory information management system (LIMS). Organize and store samples according to established procedures, maintaining accurate records and managing sample inventory. Assist analysts during analyses, providing support with various laboratory tasks. Contribute to lab stock management, monitoring inventory levels and assisting with ordering supplies. Perform water analyses following established protocols and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment according to 5S principles, including daily cleaning tasks as scheduled. Oversee the safe delivery and handling of procured equipment and consumables. Dispose of old samples according to established procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the QC Supervisor. Knowledge and Skills: Behavioral: Understanding of Bunge's business, structure, and strategy. Proactive problem-solving, collaboration, influencing skills, commitment to fostering talent and coaching others. Results-oriented with a focus on high standards, prioritization, organization, and change management. Technical: Good knowledge of laboratory operations, digital literacy, proactive work ethic, strong verbal and written communication skills. Education & Experience: HND in sciences preferred; minimum high school diploma or equivalent experience required. At least one year of proven experience in a similar laboratory assistant role.
