Laboratory Assistant III Full Time Days Position Summary

Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens, as requested. Assists pathologists and histotechs as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested.
THE LABORATORY ASSISTANT III FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE. Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Associates degree in laboratory or medical related field from an accredited institution. Experience Required: 3 years of laboratory experience. Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred. Certifications Required: Phlebotomy Certification where State law requires. Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar.
