Description:
Position Summary:
Performs non-technical procedures in support of the testing process from initial set up of supplies to disposal of waste.
Essential Job Duties:
• Handles serum, whole blood, plasma, and urine samples.
• Handles proper disposal of radioactive and biohazard waste.
• Performs sample management tasks such as volumization, building samples into load lists, labeling of samples, storage, and preparation for disposal.
• Assists in locating missing samples and pulling specimens from freezer storage locations.
• Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
• Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related duties requested by department management.
Required Education/Degree:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Certification/License:
None
Required Work Experience:
Entry level. Training will be provided.
Physical Demands:
Requires utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one’s feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling. Requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Working Conditions:
There is regular exposure to potential blood-borne pathogens and radiation and walk-in freezers.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 3pm-11:30pm
