We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team in the Saint Mary’s Hospital Laboratory Services Department. You would be responsible for assisting technical staff in preparing equipment and analyzing specimens for patient testing. Maintains proper inventory of reagents and control materials. Performs clerical functions associated with accessioning, result reporting, referred testing and customer service.
What You Will Do:
Enters into the computer results from the reference laboratoryReceives/cancels and processes laboratory specimens for the reference laboratory and the analyzer
Helps to reconcile billing issues and assists in maintaining records for all regulatory agencies
Performs pipette, thermometer calibration and scheduled instrument functions
Enters Blood Bank inventory into the computer system and performs daily inventory checks
Builds new physicians into the computer system
Clerical duties; filing, faxing, telephoning and other related duties as required
Work Hours/Shift:
• 16hrs, Day/Evening Shifts - great for college students looking for weekends
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma.
Medical terminology, specimen processing experience preferred
