Job Summary

The Laboratory Assistant organizes specimen collection requests, performs patient clinical laboratory specimen collection procedures, specimen transport, specimen processing, testing dispersal, point-of-care testing procedures, and other pre-analytic functions following established standards and practices.

 Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Certification, Licensure, Registration

This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-8:00pm Part Time; 48 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$18.25 - $24.00 per hour
