Laboratory Assistant - Point of Care

Job Overview: This role involves performing basic Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) procedures in compliance with CAP regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include collecting high-quality specimens from patients across all age groups—adults, geriatrics, pediatrics, and infants—for diagnostic testing, following CLIA, JCAHO, and CAP guidelines. The role also entails completing compliance-related documentation as per OIG standards, including the accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry. Acting as a laboratory liaison to other departments, this position requires resourcefulness, teamwork, and a thorough understanding of hospital services.

Work Hours:

Optional, minimum of 24 hours bi-weekly Varies shift (PRN) Includes weekend and holiday rotation

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Formal Phlebotomy training Phlebotomy Certification (required) 1–2 years of experience in a hospital setting (preferred)
