Laboratory Assistant - Sprinklers
This is an onsite role requiring 5 days per week in the lab in Northbrook, IL. + Reads and interprets results of tests. Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results. Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions. As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case. Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation. + Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed. + Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff. Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets. Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems. + Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. + Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices + Performs other duties as directed. + High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred. + Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers. + Desire to work in a team-oriented environment. + Ability to use Microsoft Office Suit. + Strong organization skills and attention to detail. The estimated salary range for this position is $35,500-$47,300 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.
