Fairview is looking for a full time day shift Laboratory Care Technician to work at M Health Fairview Clinic - Hugo, M Health Fairview Clinic - North Branch, M Health Fairview Clinic - Chisago City, and M Health Fairview Clinic - Wyoming. Hours vary with a start time of 7am and end times of 6pm. Fridays the latest shift is 8:30am - 5:00pm. Shifts are 8-hours long. This position includes rotating Saturday shifts at the North Branch Clinic location every 6-7 weeks. Hours for Saturday are: 8:45am-5:15pm This position is a Contract Flex Workforce position with an additional augmentation pay and mileage in accordance to IRS regulations to compensate for travel expectations between clinic sites. Working with diverse populations within a healthcare environment, the LCT plays an important role in providing quality, proficient and professional services in keeping with Fairview Values as they interact with our patients, families and co-workers. The LCT performs laboratory specimen collection at various Fairview or outreach locations, as well as, provides for safe and secure specimen handling and point of care testing. Responsible for accurately entering orders and collection information into the Laboratory Information System and associated subsystems; monitoring computer logs for incomplete work; scheduling tests/procedures and providing results in LIS/HIS and over the phone, the LCT's attention to detail and accuracy are the foundation for our providing quality laboratory services. Working as an individual or team member, the LCT continuously works towards providing quality service improvement and optimum support to the department and team members in achieving Fairview's goals. Job expectations include: Following established guidelines to obtain specimens and perform procedures, prioritizing work to achieve optimal patient outcomes, information Processing, maintaining a safe work environment, demonstrating ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Education High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program. -OR- Completion of three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience. -OR- Enrollment in MLT or MLS program, including completion of a phlebotomy course.
