Overview Designs, maintains, and administers lab educational material for students, lab staff, and allied health professionals. Presents training programs and evaluate effectiveness of programs. Manages staff competencies in a manner that meets regulatory requirements. Performs limited laboratory testing as needed. Qualifications **100% onsite position- 5 days a week** **1st shift** **BS in Med Tech or similiar** **Over 5 years technologist experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory** Required Education: Bachelor’s degree. Specific course work: Medical Technology or related field. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree in Medical Technology with 10 years of clinical lab experience may be accepted. Preferred Education: N/A Necessary Skills: 1. Advanced knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures. 2. Performs procedures requiring judgment with minimal supervision. 3. Recognizes abnormal results or testing problems and discuss with supervisor, physician or medical director. 4. Investigates and solves complex problems. 5. Prioritizes tasks and organizes work flow. 6. Requires excellent written, verbal, and computer skills. 7. Requires excellent decision making skills. 8. Must be detail oriented. 9. Must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner. Required Licensure/Certifications: Florida Technologist licensed in Microbiology, Immunohematology, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology. Must have passed one of the following National Certification Exams MT(ASCP) MT(AMT) MT(AAB) CLS(NCA)MT upon hire. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Supervisors License from State of Florida in all 5 areas: ASCP certification preferred Required Experience: Over 5 years technologist experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory Preferred Experience: More than five years experience in a clinical or pathology laboratory environment and experienced in training students.
