Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Laboratory Educator/Lab Manager for their Sitka, AK location. Responsibilities: + Under the direction of the Director of Laboratory Services, the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor, manages the Performance Improvement/QA functions of the Laboratory and is responsible for the enhancement of all aspects of Laboratory Services through ongoing monitoring and application of quality improvement principles, concepts, and technologies. + Is accountable and responsible for the overall design, coordination, and integration of quality/performance measurement, improvement utilization, initiatives, and outcomes. + Plans, participates, and implements PI/QA activities and the provision of all associated educational activities. + Responsible for department compliance with accreditation agencies' standards and regulations (CAP, AABB, FDA, JCAHO, COLA) and ensuring laboratory accreditation. + Oversees and maintains department policies and procedures to comply with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. + Responsible for the establishment and ongoing monitoring of PI indicators and thresholds, outcomes monitoring, and data analyses. + Investigates all risk management, patient/customer, and physician satisfaction issues and outcome resolution; works in collaboration with Risk Management, Quality Management, and/or other involved or associated parties to effect positive resolution and initiates necessary action at the department level. + Participates in accredited performance improvement programs laboratory services, all such data collection, data input, and result analysis of benchmark. + Performs all automated and manual testing on patients and quality control materials in the Hematology/Coagulation, Chemistry Section & Urinalysis, Microbiology/Serology, and Blood Bank Section, as needed. + Assists with the Implementation of new equipment and procedures in a timely manner. + Assist with the completion of all required validation studies. + Completes annual competency assessment successfully and by assigned date. + Other duties as assigned.
