Laboratory Engineer Dosimetry / Radiation Protection

We are recruiting a Laboratory Engineer to our Dosimetry Lab where you will get the taste of two unique environments.  This will be a combined role where you will work 50/50 as a Lab Engineer and Radiation Expert. As one part of the role you will develop your skills in our lab environment, the other part of the role will give you an opportunity to grow into our expert in radiation protection. We think this is a unique opportunity to play a key role in two different “worlds” where some tasks will be performed in our dosimetry lab while one part of the role will be question related to radiation safety and involve lots of external networking and contacts.

As you grow and develop in the area of radiation protection, we will expect you to become our expert in these kind of questions. You will also be a highly valued team member in our dosimetry lab and be part of a small team within QA/RA (Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs) where we support each other and value collaboration.

 

Responsibilities:

The work includes product and process validation as well as routine control and review of the sterilization process. Located in the dosimetry laboratory at our radiation sterilization facility you will perform routine procedures, analyses and tests. Participate in development and improvements projects around routines. Problem solving by contributing to investigate, develop, analyze and evaluate our processes and routines. To plan and perform calibration for lab instruments and measurement equipment. Conduct training in our internal dosimetry. Work within the field of radiation protection for our sterilization facility together with our radiation protection expert. To understand and follow the requirements set by the radiation protection authority and see how they must be complied with and applied in our operations. Participate in internal and external audits of the sterilization unit.

Who you are?

As a person you are meticulous and practically oriented and have the will and ability to work both independently and in project form. We assume that you can express yourself well in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English. You need to be able to work with several tasks in parallel and have the flexibility to shift from planned to more urgent matters.

 

Background / Qualifications:

University degree within natural science, preferably with a focus on radiation physics. You know how to perform independent laboratory work and have a knowledge about and/or background from radiation sterilization.  To succeed in the role you also need strong computer skills as we have high requirements for documentation and reporting.
