Laboratory Head - Cardiovascular Research
**The Position** We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Head to lead a team of Research Assistants and to collaborate with highly skilled experts from various disciplines with the goal to convert innovative ideas into potent drugs by applying cutting-edge science. Then seize this opportunity to join the Cardiovascular team located at Boehringer Ingelheim’s largest R&D site in Biberach an der Riss, Germany. **Tasks & responsibilities** + In your new role, you will lead a pharmacology lab with several highly skilled Research Assistants. + In addition, you will lead the science to identify and validate novel therapeutic starting points to treat cardiovascular diseases. + Moreover, you will establish cutting-edge methods and technology for innovative drug discovery. + With your scientific expertise, you will also lead drug discovery projects in a matrix environment, thereby productively collaborating across disciplines including medicinal chemistry, biologics development, and other drug discovery supporting functions. + You will recognize and leverage external collaboration opportunities that amplify the Department’s research. + Furthermore, you will contribute to the science in cardiovascular disease by publishing papers and presenting at conferences. + You will be responsible for extended late-stage projects. + Additionally, you will lead external collaborations and contribute to the evaluation of licenising opportunities. **Requirements** + Doctorate degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular pharmacology or related disciplines with expert knowledge in cardiovascular biology + Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and long-term professional postdoctoral experience with sound leadership experience + Demonstrated track record of publications in scientific journals + Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills + Independent, goal-oriented and pro-active working attitude, flexibility as well as innovative thinking and problem solving + Fluency in English spoken and written; German is a plus **Ready to contact us?** If you have any questions about the job posting or process - please contact our HR Direct Team, Tel: +49 (0) 6132 77-3330 or via mail: hr.de@boehringer-ingelheim.com Recruitment process: Step 1: Online application - application deadline is January 13, 2025.
