Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations, safety, and administration of our laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular diagnostics, quality assurance, and laboratory management. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, managing laboratory personnel, and maintaining high standards of laboratory practices.
What You'll Be Doing:
Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.Establish and validate new testing protocols and procedures.Ensure laboratory equipment and instruments receive appropriate maintenance and calibration. Analyze research data using scientific and statistical techniques. Prepare and present status reports on research activities. Manage and conduct internal and external audits, including COLA and CLIA audits.Develop and maintain written documents for testing procedures, training personnel, and safety protocols.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. Ensure all research activities comply with sponsor guidelines and templates. Maintain traffic patterns, sterile equipment, pest control, and record-keeping in the laboratory.Train and supervise laboratory personnel, ensuring they are proficient in all testing protocols and safety procedures.Coordinate work assignments, set priorities, and direct the work of laboratory employees. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to staff. Develop, implement, and maintain an effective biosafety program, including policies, procedures, and training materials.Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for all biological materials and research activities.Investigate and report on incidents or accidents involving biological materials, and implement corrective actions as necessary.Provide laboratory support including DNA/RNA extractions, PCR setup, sequencing, and data analysis.Assist in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols. Stay up-to-date on emerging biosafety issues and best practices, and make recommendations for program improvements.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Master of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.Extensive experience in molecular diagnostics, quality assurance, and laboratory management.Current Top-Secret w/ SCI eligible Security ClearanceProficiency in molecular techniques such as PCR, sequencing, and nucleic acid extraction.Strong knowledge of biosafety regulations and best practices.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience with laboratory instruments such as ABI 7500 DX, Luminex 200, Roche LightCycler, and others.RABQSA Certified Lead Auditor ISO/IEC 17025 Course.Experience in directed energy Experience translating functional requirements into tasksSupervisory experience
