Job Description

You are responsible for the laboratory operation activities in kit receiving, kit accessioning and specimen management. The Laboratory Operation Assistant has further responsibilities as described hereto.

Be familiar and compliant with the Standard Operation Procedures (SOP)Receive and open the diagnostic kit upon arrivalPerform accessioning by entering the relevant information on the specimen and requisition form into the LIMSPerform quality check on both specimen and requisition formNotify/clarify with Project Management on any potential defects/deficiency and follow up with corrective actionLabel the specimen with proper bar code label for positive identification of specimenProper storage of post analysis samplesReceive, storage and proper tracking of frozen samplesPerform specimen management functionalityPrepare outbound shipments as requiredLiaise with couriers for the timely delivery of shipmentsTimely reporting of any problems or issues to Team Leader Specimen Management or Senior Lab Ops AssistantAny duties assigned by the Team Leader Specimen Management or Senior Lab Ops Assistant

QualificationsMust hold a Diploma in Biomedical Science or equivalent from a recognised education institutionPreferably have experience in sample managementMust possess good organisation skillMust possess excellent interpersonal skillMust possess efficient communication skillMust possess good attention to details
