Job Description:

Responsible for correctly ordering lab tests to be performed and accurately reporting lab results by telephone.

Job Duties:

Performs data entry of patient information, ordering of tests, scheduling tests, etc. in laboratory computer.Prints, sorts and distributes lab reports; answers telephone and relays messages. Takes Physician orders for outpatient lab testing.Notifies phlebotomists of orders to be collected and communicates test information and results to physicians, nurses and outside clients.Transports specimens to the processing area or appropriate lab department.Receives outpatients and gives prompt service.Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy, and dependability to perform all the duties of the position.

Requirements:

HS or GED is required.No experience is required.
