Laboratory/Process Technician

We are seeking a Laboratory/Process Technician to join our Technology & Innovation team located in the Tonsley Innovation District in Adelaide SA.  The successful candidate will have completed Year 12 secondary school. Some skills and experience in the required areas and a keen interest to expand their knowledge in other areas, is preferred but not essential.

Job requirements:

Operating and maintaining equipment, instruments and processes related to ophthalmic production in accordance with internal engineering specifications and standard work instructionsMonitoring and implementing necessary operational changes in consultation with the technical project leader or process ownerParticipating in site activities to ensure compliance with strict quality, safety and environmental proceduresProduction of qualification samples through various process steps in accordance with test plans (Surfacing and Coating)Measuring and testing ophthalmic lenses according to ISO and internal specificationsUndertaking general operational, technical and plant maintenance duties whilst maintaining documentation

Desirable knowledge/skills:

A methodical approach and high attention to detail will be necessary to record and analyse crucial data effectivelyA technical aptitude and acumen that will ensure you are able to identify and troubleshoot crucial process issues in a timely and effective mannerExperience in a similar role as a Process Technician in operations or maintenance will be advantageous but not essentialWorking experience in the Optical industry beneficialExcellent interpersonal skills which will enable you to foster positive working relationships with the teamGood knowledge of Microsoft officeExcellent communication skillsWork within a team, as well as working unsupervisedA motivated self-starter that is reliable, efficient and driven to succeedAbility to work under pressure, with the capacity to plan and prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines in accordance to their priorityInterest and desire to learn new skills and pursue a path as a technical expert in the medium termGood time management and the ability to multi-taskEnthusiasm for hands on workStrong work ethicAvailable for international travel on an as needed basisSome flexibility in working hours for international collaboration, including meetings
