Laboratory Quality Supervisor-FT-Provo

Position Summary: We are looking for a motivated, outgoing candidate to join our laboratory administrative team; a candidate that wants to contribute to the health care team by providing oversight to the quality functions of the Revere Health Laboratory. This position will provide quality assurance in microbiology, chemistry, immunochemistry, and hematology. As part of the administrative team, you will provide support to laboratory supervisors and medical directors at the Provo and East Bay lab locations. Candidate will coordinate CLIA and COLA surveys, communication with the Utah State CLIA office, ensure regulatory compliance through performance of quality audits, policy development, new test validation, and act as a resource for quality control documentation and troubleshooting. We expect that the candidate will maintain a professional image in appearance and conduct, and balance team and individual responsibilities to contribute to a positive work environment. Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with physicians, supervisors, and co-workers. Must be able to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Knowledgeable of laboratory CLIA and COLA regulatory standards to ensure laboratory compliance and recommend changes when appropriate and necessary. Writing, evaluating, revising, and modifying laboratories policies and procedures in conjunction with the laboratory medical director. Administers quality assurance for the clinical laboratory including: Oversight of laboratory quality program with a primary focus on microbiology, chemistry, immunochemistry, and hematology to include all phases of pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing, employee competency, QC review, proficiency testing, lab incidents, etc. Establishing standards, normal values, and methods of control for each laboratory test performed and instruments used.  Oversees performance and quality of tests. Plans, designs, and directs installation of new or improved laboratory techniques and tests. Perform internal and external laboratory audits. Acts as a consultant for other departments performing testing regarding CLIA compliance and new test evaluation. Test correlation of results from secondary analyzers. New test/analyzer validations. Assist to develop of the laboratory quality annual review. Working knowledge of the laboratory information system. Promotes excellent customer service. Assists with addressing complaints regarding laboratory functions. 

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science and current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist ASCP, NCA or equivalent Minimum of two years laboratory training and experience in a CLIA high complexity laboratory performing microbiology, chemistry, immunochemistry, and hematology testing. 

 

Hours: Full-time Salary position, Monday – Friday 40 hours per week. Position will work in the Provo, Utah area. Occasional travel and weekend/after hour work is required.
