ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for two Laboratory Receiving Clerks to work in the Christiana General Lab. The available shifts are either 4:00am - 12:30 pm or 7:00am - 3:30pm. Every third weekend required. Holidays as required.
In this role you will perform pre and post analytical functions that support the testing of specimens received in the General Laboratory.
Your resume must be attached to your application, and you must have prior lab experience or equivalent science coursework to be considered.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips
Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens
Prioritize incoming work, ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section in order to maintain stated turnaround times
Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery
Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent
Two years applicable clinical experience working in a lab environment with specimens or equivalent college courses in the health care field preferred
