Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Sr. Manager - Network TSMS will lead a technical staff within the TSMS – E.coli and Peptide Network. They will provide guidance on time management, development opportunities, and priorities for direct reports to support laboratory operations.  Key position responsibility, in addition to leading the team, is to address technical challenges, execute and align area work to meet area / platform deliverables, collaborate cross functionally to drive instrument uptime and adherence to preventative maintenance plans. Ensure associated documentation adheres to Quality, Data Integrity, and Regulatory standards and is completed and approved within designated timelines. First point of escalation in the event of laboratory issues and schedule changes. Work with peer leadership in a positive fashion to deliver on business plan and compliance objectives. The Laboratory Sr. Manager will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of 7 to 9 direct reports. Frequent direct floor supervision and conflict resolution in classified and non-classified areas may be required. The position requires knowledge of cGMPs, contamination control strategies and risk assessments, equipment commissioning and qualification activities, and applicable global regulatory manufacturing and laboratory guidance.

Leading/mentoring a technical staff and understanding of either protein chemistry or cell banking as it relates to API manufacturing.

Time management skills to assist in the productive completion of daily activities, implementation of technical projects and balance new technical priorities. Provide guidance on time management and priorities for direct reports. 

Facilitate Performance Management and assist in employee career development plans.

Proactively manage the day-to-day activities of the laboratory and resolve safety issues.

Assist with oversight of laboratory assets, including C&Q of new equipment, long term capital planning, and maintenance coordination.

Provide technical understanding of the regulations applicable to laboratory testing and method development for use in cGMP purposes.

Maintain laboratory inspection readiness and ensure compliance with HSE standards, and other regulatory commitments.

Work with peer leadership in a positive fashion to deliver on functional technical objectives, specific business plan objectives, and quality objectives.


Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in scientific disciplines of Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Chemical or Pharmaceutical Development, Regulatory Sciences, or cGMP manufacturing (specifically within Quality Control, TSMS, or Quality Assurance).


Additional Skills/Preferences:

Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills that demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and network with all multiple levels of the organization.

Solid understanding of basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA and OSHA. 

Previous experience with deviation and change management systems including Trackwise.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$96,000 - $140,800

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
