Laboratory Supervisor-FT-Provo

Position Summary: Revere Health is seeking an energetic leader to supervise an amazing team of laboratory employees in our Provo Main Laboratory location. A leader who can balance hard work with fun, while maintaining regulatory compliance. Preserving our organization’s reputation of promoting friendly, competent, and efficient patient focused services. The supervisor will oversee all routine aspects of the laboratory. Candidate will be responsible for oversight and monitoring of quality control, patient testing, employee orientation, training, and competency of new and existing lab staff.

 

Essential Job Functions:  Ensures adequate staffing level of the department including candidate recruiting, interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, training, and evaluations with consistent performance feedback and performance management. • Through staff rounding and coaching, develops and recognizes staff and assists employees in setting and achieving goals. • Promotes open communication and encourages staff suggestions regarding department operations. • Knowledgeable of general clinical laboratory procedures and practices and uses knowledge to evaluate department and recommend improvement. • Operates through delegation of responsibilities and appropriate follow-up and accountability. • Advises the Laboratory Services Director of departmental needs including staffing, equipment, recalls, proficiency testing, processes, concerns, complaints, and opportunities for growth. • Oversees performance and documentation of maintenance, quality control, and proficiency testing. • Maintains reagent and supply inventory. • With the assistance of quality supervisors, reviews departmental performance to ensure compliance with all CLIA, COLA and OSHA regulatory requirements. • Provides supervision of phlebotomy supervisor and acts as a resource to the phlebotomy team. • Works closely with Laboratory Services Director to promote and maintain efficient, high quality lab services and a professional, safe, and collaborative work environment.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical or medical laboratory science, and minimum of 1 year of clinical or medical laboratory experience in CLIA high complexity testing including: routine chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, urinalysis, microbiology, general immunology, and endocrinology; or • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, or biological science and certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist ASCP or equivalent required and minimum of 2 years of clinical or medical laboratory experience in CLIA high complexity testing including: routine chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, urinalysis, microbiology, general immunology, and endocrinology. • Familiar with CLIA, COLA and OSHA Laboratory regulations. • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

 

Hours: • Position is a salaried 40-hour work week, primarily Monday - Friday. • Shifts must vary as to the needs of the department. • Laboratory testing hours - 6:30 am – 8:30 pm Monday – Friday, rotating half day on Saturdays.
