Position Title: Laboratory Technician I

Location: South Plainfield, NJ

Shift: Mon-Fri 7:30pm-4:00am

How You’ll Make an Impact 
 Our Lab Techs strictly adhere to laboratory SOPs to ensure quality and safety while handling samples for Sanger Sequencing. They are proactive, detail oriented, able to meet tight deadlines, and strive in fast-paced work environments. They understand the big picture, while paying attention to the details. They understand our customer needs with empathy and know that everything they do is making a difference. On-site training will be provided.


What You’ll Do 

Adhere to Safety ProtocolsStrictly follow SOPs and site trainer’s direction in training, sample handling, project processing, and documentationAssist and maintain the cleanliness of work areaSort incoming samplesPrepare sequencing template, including preparation, amplification, and PCR purificationLabware Washing, biohazard waste collection and packagingCommunicate with customers by e-mail in a friendly and professional mannerAssist in purifying sequencing template and load samples onto sequencing machinesAbility to lift 25 lbs.Job requires both sitting and standing for 8 hours a dayMust be able to bend, twist and walk for extended periods of timeFine motor skills and hand-eye coordinationMay require working overtime and/or weekends on rotation

What You Will Bring

High School Diploma requiredAAS Degree or equivalent lab work experience preferred1+ years of lab work experience preferredExcellent attention to detailProactive team memberAble to work under pressure and meet deadlinesEager to learn and retain new concepts quicklyExcellent interpersonal skills; both verbal and writtenPrevious laboratory experience a plusMicropipette and multichannel pipette experience a plusLIMS experience a plus
