BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
This position is responsible for field product sampling, making line displacements, pumps displacements laboratory testing, control of customer commodity within the Gulf Region.
Perform testing of customer commodities in accordance with approved methods utilizing laboratory testing apparatus or equipment and ASTM standards.Perform preventive maintenance of all laboratory equipment including prescribed standardization and calibration checks and adjustments. Determine and monitor line displacements and product cuts to ensure that product integrity is maintained in accordance with regulatory guidelines and product specifications.Obtain and test tank, line and pipeline samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.Interact with field operations and control room personnel to report testing results to assure quality control of customer commodities.Prepare and issue accurate laboratory reports and logs as required by customers and management.Must be able to be confined space train and okay with making entry to tanks to perform wall wash testing.Assist Lab Manager in all administrative functions, ordering supplies and troubleshooting testing equipment.Willingness and ability to work 12-hour rotating shift and overtime as required, including Holidays, nights and weekends. Shift schedule could change due to work load or more staffing.Willingness and ability to be on call to cover emergencies that might arise. May require helping at other locations depending on work load needs.May be required to be an ERT member and maintaining ERT membership in good standing is required to hold this position.Other duties as assigned.
