Description

The technician in the R&D Innovation Development group is primarily a role to support R&D efforts in the preparation, testing and evaluation of new materials for potential use across the various business areas Diversey serves.  The individual in this position must demonstrate working knowledge of basic chemistry, applications, and making chemistry formulations. Must be able to apply and interpret standard scientific theories, concepts, and techniques. Under supervision from chemists and manager, can plan and perform laboratory assignments, operate various machines, test equipment in the evaluation of products, and have a working knowledge of basic chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for product formulations, performing physical, chemical, or application tests on formulations, routinely testing formulations, and reporting resultsYou will be responsible for setting up and operating laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures to support the development of new technologies.You will apply and interpret standard scientific theories, concepts, techniques, and make chemistry formulations.You will be responsible for recording experimental data, making calculations, presenting data, and communicating progress.Responsible for safe working conditions and adheres to local, federal, and institutional safety regulations and policies

Qualifications

You have an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, a closely related field of study, or relevant industrial experience.Scientific knowledge and ability to understand and carry out standard methods relevant to the department.Strong communication skillsYou have experience working with standard laboratory equipment and MS Office.

Experience working as a laboratory technician in product formulation, quality control or similar
