We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician Co-Op Student. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Reporting to the Lab Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician Co-Op Student is responsible for supporting the Laboratory through tasks such as sample preparation, testing, analysis, reporting and helping maintain overall cleanliness of the lab to ensure its smooth and safe operation. This is a temporary position for 4 months. This position is on-site work, and no remote work is possible. Major part of the work is hands on work ranging from using tools to build or maintain the unit to performing chemical analysis by titration, spectrophotometer, etc.

Technical and Industry Experience\:
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Comfortable using hand tools and working with laboratory equipment. Ability to analyze and problem solve with equipment/test set-up. Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively multitask. Ability to work to manage workload under time constraints to meet tight deadlines. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. Comfortable moving items up to 30 lbs in weight. Experience in a lab environment conducting tests. MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Understanding safety and being safety minded. Experience with instrumentation and programming is an asset.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training\:
Required\:
Attending accredited university in a Chemistry, Engineering or technical program.
For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the hourly rate range is $26.00 to $35.00
