We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician II - Chemical Analytics to join our team in Charleston, TN.
What you will do:
This Laboratory Technician II – Chemical Analytics will provide analytical support for spectroscopy instrumentation used for trace metal analysis of polysilicon in a cleanroom environment. This position will also support maintaining cleanroom safety and cleanliness requirements through the monitoring of cleanroom environmental conditions and HVAC equipment, as well as provide support of the routine and non-routine analytical experimentation on an as needed basis and ensure instrumentation is available for analytical testing of production samples. The position will report to the Technical Manager, Analytics.
Conducts all steps of the analyses required for routine and non-routine testing of polysilicon in a cleanroom environment under close supervision. Begins to provide technical assistance to other lab team members regarding analytical and data-processing aspects. (60%) Interact with databases and computer software; enter data and retrieve data. Evaluate lab results. Use existing software for evaluation and documentation purposes. (10%) Observe/differentiate between standard conditions and deviations from normal. Communicate results and deviations/observations from non-routine analyses. (10%) Cooperate with the other qualified staff in scheduling and coordinating servicing, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance. (5%) Contact appropriate personnel when additional expertise is required. (5%) Other duties as assigned. (10%)
What we need from you:
High School Diploma or GED with 0-2+ years of relevant years of experience in a chemical or technical field; Associate's or BS degree in a technical field preferred. Certificates concerning instrument maintenance preferred but not required. Experience on chemical instrumentation preferred. A team player, who will learn to work with various functions and levels of the organization. Follows company policies regarding health and environmental protection, work safety, plant safety, and quality. Strong safety, detail, and quality oriented. Have technical and mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills. Express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, to groups and individuals. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and maintain confidentiality and integrity. Good communication skills required. Be able to work overtime (including weekends and holidays), if necessary. Understands basic troubleshooting issues with equipment and processes. Capable of working at multiple workstations. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of duties: lab suit, lab apron, safety glasses, face shield, gloves, etc. Exposure to chemicals, such as strong acids and bases, will be required. Required to work a day light (start time 7:00 am) Monday thru Friday schedule with the occasional weekend coverage. Work overtime (including weekends and holidays), when necessary.
