Laboratory Technician - Quality Control (Experienced)

As a Quality Control Technician-Experienced, you will be responsible for validating finished goods of all phases of the operation, including rework samples and non-conforming material.  You are responsible for specification testing that is reported to the customer which is critical for accurate performance. You will work onsite in the Richmond, Virginia Plant, reporting to the QC/QA Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

•    Backup for all supervisory functions during the absence of the QA Lab Supervisor
•    Testing of finished good samples (Viscosity, Density, Solids, Dry Time, etc.) 
•    Calibration and troubleshooting of Analyzers 
•    Updating information into our lab sample tracking system
•    Capable of testing samples in multiple QC Labs (Main Lab and PLC Lab) 
•    Expedited flow of Batch Tickets between departments
•    Staging samples for shipment (FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc.) 
•    Training of Plant personnel to ensure we have backups when needed
•    Will lead and work on independent quality projects as needed
•    Maintain 5S and good housekeeping standards 
•    Other duties as assigned 

All work is completed via Standard Operating Procedures which must be followed. 

Qualifications:

•    High School diploma or equivalent is required (College level chemistry is a plus)
•    Good Computer Skills
•    Minimum of 1 year QC Lab experience 
•    Good mathematics skills
•    Ability to understand record and verbalize detailed information accurately
•    Ability to lift 25 pounds 
•    Bi-Lingual preferred
