**Job Title: Laborer** **Job Description** As a Construction Laborer, you will be responsible for various site prep work throughout the entire winter & spring season. This includes shoveling, pumping water, preparing construction sites for concrete trades using heat blankets, utilizing hydronic surface heaters to thaw frozen ground, cure concrete, prevent frost, and provide temporary heat. You will also shovel snow and assist carpenters and skilled contractors to ensure they can focus on their tasks without distractions. This role involves working in the elements year-round. **Responsibilities** + Perform site prep work including shoveling, moving material, and labor + Pump water and prepare construction sites in winter using heat blankets and hydronic surface heaters. + Thaw frozen ground, cure concrete, prevent frost, and provide temporary heat. + Shovel snow and assist carpenters and skilled contractors. + Handle materials and use hand tools. + Work in various weather conditions and follow directions well. **Essential Skills** + 1+ years of experience in construction. + 1+ years of experience as a laborer. + 1+ years of experience in material handling using hand tools. + Ability to lift 50 pounds. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 1+ years of working outside in cold conditions is a plus. + Must have a valid driver's license. **Why Work Here?** This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting steady work year-round. This is a first shift opportunity starting at 6am until 3pm or varying end time depending on work load, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime and weekend work. Employees will work 45+ hours a week and must arrive at the shop no later than 5:45am to meet their crew lead. Will ride with Crew Foreman in company vehicle to various job sites throughout West MI. The work involves being in cold environments daily, so appropriate cold weather, waterproof boots, and warm clothing (preferably Carhartt gear) are required. Employees should bring a change of dry clothes, extra socks, and their own lunches, snacks, and beverages for the day.
