Labour Relations - Human Resources Generalist

The Labour Relations - Human Resources Generalist at the Windsor Assembly Plant location will provide front line guidance to plant operating management and employees in all aspects of labour relations.

The candidate must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (including the afternoon and midnight shifts), weekends, and overtime as required.

 

Labour Relations responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Administration of the collective agreement including grievance administration, interpretation and overall compliance Facilitating effective management/union relations Administration of the company attendance program and other code of conduct policies Discipline management and assessment Conducting workplace investigations Collaboration with Health & Safety representatives, including coverage of safety responsibilities as required Data gathering and report generation Trend analysis and presentation Conducting training on HR-related topics Coaching, guiding, and providing direction to operating management on assigned shift Other HR assignments as required related to employment, recruitment, onboarding and training in support of the HR department

Basic Qualifications: 

University level Bachelor's degree Prior Human Resources or Labour Relations experience in a unionized environment Strong interest in growing as a Human Resources professional Interest in working in a manufacturing environment Strong communication, team building and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and record keeping skills Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Available to work variable shifts, including weekends Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or related field Knowledge of employment laws and regulations including the Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, and Occupational Health & Safety Act Strong project management skills
