WHAT’S THE JOB?
Based in a world class Horizon North camp facility in Nunavut, the regular shift for this position is 3 weeks on/3 weeks off, with 12-hour workdays and includes an hourly starting rate of $20.00. Transportation is provided to site from a pickup point in Edmonton.

The Labourer, reporting to the Maintenance Lead, is responsible for assisting with general activities related to the upkeep and repair of a remote camp. 

Your work will include: 

Maintaining the cleanliness and ensuring good repair of tools and equipment Loading, unloading and delivery of materials and supplies Sweeping, vacuuming and trash removal of work areas not serviced by the janitorial team Maintenance of outdoor site cleanliness, including snow removal Responding to various maintenance/ service tasks such as unclogging toilets, changing lightbulbs, furniture assembly and other light repairs Completing activities related to manual labour, including bending, stooping, reaching, carrying and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 45lbs Assisting tradespersons Driving as required 

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Six months or more working as a labour or maintenance helper in a construction or commercial settingCompletion of Highschool or equivalentMust gave a valid, unrestricted, driver's license and clean driver's abstract Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervisionPhysical stamina to perform manual labour tasks for extended periods of time. Ability to lift heavy objects up to 45 lbs, walk and stand for long periods of timeBasic hand tool operationAttention to detailAbility to follow instructions and perform work safelyAbility to perform duties in warm, cold, wet, humid or dry climates on a variety of surfaces including, concrete and gravel.Polite, respectful, works well with others

Work schedule and remuneration: 

Labourers work on a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.  Site locations are in remote settings, requiring air travel to site from Edmonton, AB. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. Wages are paid on an hourly basis with a starting rate of $20.00.
