POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: This program is open to indivudals currently enrolled in the LACC CNA Program. Upon completion of the LACC CNA Program, individuals will have a 2 year work commitment at OSF Saint James Medical Center in Pontiac, IL. The required qualifications for our Patient Care Technicians are as follows: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled Job seekers will be afforded equal opportunity regardless of their race, ethnicity, veteran status or disability status.
