Position Summary:
Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Lactation Promotion Supervisor for its WIC Department offices across Washington in Seattle, Everett, Bellingham, Tacoma, Olympia, and Vancouver. Under the direction of the WIC Program Director, the Lactation Promotion Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Breastfeeding Peer Counselors and for providing Breastfeeding educations and support patients and clients of the Health Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following listed below. The Lactation Promotion Supervisor may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Administrative
Clinical:
Demonstrates knowledge of breastfeeding promotion and support strategies. Able to provide basic breastfeeding support training. Able to provide consultation for the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor team and provide information and guidance regarding counseling skills and problem solving. Serves as a preceptor for Sea Mar Dietetic Interns; assists and evaluates interns in their counseling and charting skills; conducts occasional classes for interns.Education and/or Experience:
Possess an International Board Certified lactation Consultation (IBCLC) required. Possess a BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Experience with the WIC program, multicultural populations is preferred. Maintain current IBCLC credentials if possess. The experience should reveal managerial and organizational skills, and a demonstrated interest in breastfeeding services and breastfeeding education.Bilingual preferredWhat We Offer:
