Lallie Kemp Medical Center is an acute care hospital. The LAK Nurse Practitioner position is an unclassified position that is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients while working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team. Qualifications: Possession of a valid Louisiana license required by the State of Louisiana to practice Advanced Practice Nursing. For those practitioners completing an advanced practice nursing program prior to January 1, 1997, Master of Science degree in nursing with a Nurse Practitioner clinical tract is necessary. Five (5) years of related clinical nursing experience prior to entering an advanced practice nursing program in such areas as intensive care, emergency departments, high volume clinic settings or other high-volume, high complexity in-patient services. Preference: Two (2) years of experience as Nurse Practitioner with prescription-writing authority as permitted under the law. License/Certifications: Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or any other credentialing agency recognized by the State of Louisiana.
