ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking a Land Development Engineer to join our growing Land Development team in Orlando, FL and to play a crucial role in shaping the future of cities and neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of site development plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.Conduct field investigations and gather data to support project designs.Collaborate with project managers, planners, and other engineers to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions.Prepare reports, calculations, and technical documentation.

Skills and Attributes

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with teammates.Self-motivated with attention to detail.Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulationsKnowledge of construction materials and detailing. Detail drawings, sections, and material specificationsExperience with green initiative programs and low-impact design (LEED, Envision)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.1+ years of engineering experience (may include extensive co-op/internship experience)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of land development.EIT Certification preferred.
