ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Tyson’s Corner and Washington, D.C. offices are seeking a Land Development Intern to join the team for Summer 2025.

 

This internship is designed to introduce students into the workforce. The program will build essential professional skills by offering opportunities for hands-on learning in a supportive yet challenging environment. The intern program is designed to round out participants’ academic learning with real world experience and help them explore related areas of practice to find the best fit for their career path.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely mannerAssist in development of planning and engineering solutionsAssist in data mining and visualizationPerform analysis of data or calculationsPerform field data collection and other on-site project support activitiesPrepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports

Skills and Attributes

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsTeam oriented with strong capability to work independentlySelf-motivated with attention to detailA strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieveKnowledge of drawing and mapping tools such as AutoCAD and GISKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering

Hiring Salary Range - $19/hr - $28/hr. However, the final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VHB offers intern benefits which can be found here.
