**Land Engineering Supervisor**
This position reports to the Land Engineering Manager and will be located at the Georgia Power Corporate Office @ 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA.
+ **Please Note** **: You will be required to be IN THE OFFICE a minimum of three (3) days per week and/or as additionally required.**
+ **Relocation assistance will be provided IF needed & IF you qualify.**
+ **You will be required to travel statewide up to approx. 25% with occasional overnight travel involved.**

This position is responsible for leading a team of CAD technicians and office survey specialists in delivering mapping products.
The position is also responsible for the coordination and supervision of mapping company property, including but not limited to, transmission rights of way, substation sites, generating plant sites, reservoirs, and non-utility lands.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
**Educational / License Requirements**
+ High School Diploma required
+ Four-year college degree preferred
+ BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Surveying and Mapping, or Geomatics preferred
+ Georgia Registered Land Surveyor preferred
**Experience Requirements**
+ **Minimum 2 years supervisory experience via direct supervision, project management, project coordinator, team leader, or equivalent**
+ Surveying and mapping, CAD drafting and/ or design experience preferred
+ Construction/utility experience preferred
+ Project Management experience preferred
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Proven leadership ability
+ Comprehensive understanding of surveying and mapping technologies
+ Broad understanding of departmental interdependencies
+ Comprehensive knowledge of general business concepts and applications, to support budgeting, strategic planning, goal setting and operations
+ Adept with computer software applications
+ Understanding of GIS techniques and concepts, including familiarity with mapping tools such as ARC GIS, AutoCAD and/or Microstation
+ Understanding of GPS techniques and concepts, including, familiarity with GPS hardware and software tools
+ Knowledge of imaging and scanning tools and techniques
+ Knowledge of geography of the state of Georgia and its legal land system.
+ Understanding of the electric network components - generation, transmission, and distribution - Familiarity with Georgia Power facilities and history a plus
+ Spatial ability - can read, interpret, and correlate various types of maps (plans, profiles, plats, transmission grid book, distribution base maps, tax maps, atlases, etc.)

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Provides leadership to Land Engineering staff. This includes, but is not limited to, performance management, coaching, goal setting, training and other employee development.
+ Coordinates and supervises mapping company property, including but not limited to, transmission rights of way, substation and generating plant sites, reservoirs, etc. Customers include GPC Land, Environmental Affairs, Customer Service & Operations, SCS & GPC Transmission, Generation, etc.
+ Directs and coordinates activities relating to budgets, selects candidates for employment or termination, determines staffing needs, implements cost controls and goals and objectives.
+ Directs and coordinates efforts to maintain quality assurance, keeps abreast of laws and standards pertaining to surveying and mapping, assigns major work assignments and represents the organization in outside professional and technical forums.
+ Ensures documentation of workgroup procedures
+ Supervises the procurement, training and work direction of Land Engineering’s significant contract work force.
**This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:**
+ **Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).**
+ **Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.**
+ **Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record**
