Senior level position provides support to and operation and maintenance of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and Emergency Mass Notification Systems (EMNS) in support of USAFCENT (A6). This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. Responsibilities Major Job Activities: Install and support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of LMR, EMNS, and public address (PA) systems IAW AFI 17-210, USAFCENT (A6) policies and applicable commercial manuals. LMR system administrator technicians must attain and maintain ASTRO 25 Integrated Voice and Data training IAW the individual Task Order (TO). Tasks shall include, but are not limited to: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, optimization, programming, installation, and removal of LMR and EMNS. Identify and provide recommendations for coverage deficiencies when directed by Government personnel. Assist in the management of the base personal wireless communication system AIMS database. Identify and assist in the resolution of frequency interference issues IAW AFI 10-707 and host nation directives. Must be adequately tower/climbing certified to perform the required tasks. Technicians must also maintain tower climbing certification. Supply, install, and de-install LMR mobile and base station to include antenna, transmission cables, and other LMR equipment defined in the individual TO. Install, operate, and maintain equipment required to support trunked and conventional LMR systems. Material & Equipment Directly Used: Primary and auxiliary LMR equipment supported includes, but is not limited to: Repeaters, portables, base stations and mobiles; Dispatch/communications consoles; System management terminals; Zone controllers; Switching and routing equipment; Network management equipment; Key management facility equipment; Logging recorders; Key loaders, chargers, programming equipment; Combiner systems; Antenna systems; EMNSs (Giant Voice) Motorola Astro25 Working Environment: Working environment is both in and outside work. Outside work environment will be very hot due to conditions within the region. Physical Activities: Must be able to lift/push/pull 40 lbs. unassisted. Qualifications Education / Certifications: High School Diploma or GED U.S. Citizen Active Secret Tier 3 (or higher) Security Clearance IAT Level I Certified Experience / Skills: 2 years’ lead-level practical experience in: shop practices; installations, repair and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment; able to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment; AND Expert in: maintaining/troubleshooting Motorola and other LMR equipment (communications consoles; repeaters; SRX-2200, XTS-5000 and other various hand held radios; trunked and non-trunked LMR systems; key loaders, antennas, multi-couplers, duplexers; test equipment, such as service monitors/communication system analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power meters, spectrum analyzer; digital recording equipment; over the air keying equipment (key management facility); and site controllers; AND Qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios; AND Must have LMR shop operations and management experience in a large-scale LMR shop and be familiar with equipment tracking databases.
