Land Planner III

Poulos & Bennett, a Pape-Dawson company, is hiring a Land Planner III for our Orlando, FL office. Reporting directly to the Planning Team Leader, this client-focused role requires the ability to deliver high-quality products on time and manage diverse partnerships. The position requires professional judgment and coordination with clients, various local governments, and regional and state agencies.

The position is in-office 5 days a week.

Provide technical expertise and guidance through entitlement process on land-use planning projects.Review and analyze project documents, including site plans, zoning ordinances, and environmental impact assessments, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project objectives.Manage and complete preliminary site feasibility analyses (due diligence) of property on behalf of owners or prospective buyers.Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate planning principles and best practices into project designs.Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on project tasks.Serve as a liaison between clients, regulatory agencies, and community representatives.Stay updated on relevant zoning regulations, environmental policies, and land-use trends.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Understanding of local zoning regulations, environmental codes, and planning principles.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field5 – 8 years’ experience in planning, zoning, and/or land use, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.One (1) year of experience interpreting Florida Statutes preferred.American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferredPrivate sector experience as a planning consultant for public sector clients preferred.Requires a valid Florida driver license.Occasional driving is required to various locations within Florida.Requires flexible hours for attendance at meetings and events.
